Back in December I was approved for the Barclaycard US Airways credit card with a 50,000 mile sign-up bonus. This was one of the BEST signup bonuses in terms of minimum spending requirement, because Barclaycard only required 1 purchase and payment of the $89 annual fee to collect the 50,000 US Airways miles.

Sometime in Q2, US Airways miles will merge into customer’s AAdvantage accounts. American Airlines is already allowing customers to pair their two award accounts together to make the transition process smooth. On top of the merger, Barclaycard is also going to roll out a new credit card product and current customers will receive their new card in the mail between April 1 and July 15.

AAdvantage Aviator Red MasterCard

As mentioned above, customers who applied for the Barclaycard US Airways card and were approved will automatically receive their new AAdvantage Aviator Red MasterCard between the dates of April 1 and July 15. Barclaycard is instructing their customers to continue using their US Airways Dividend miles credit card until they receive their new Aviator Red card.

Barclaycard Introducing AAdvantage Aviator Red Card

Barclaycard will soon be shipping out Aviator Red MasterCards to current US Airways Dividend Miles card holders. Customers can expect the Aviator Red card to arrive sometime in Q2.

  6. Chip Technology

Make your purchases more convenient and secure, around the world and across the U.S. Chip cards are now standard in many destination countries, and more stores here at home are accepting chip cards every day.

Enhance your award travel experience with the option to redeem for one-way travel and First-Class upgrades, as well as vacation packages, car rentals, hotel stays and more.

Red Aviator Barclaycard

The Red Aviator card will be available to previous US Airways customers who currently hold the Dividend miles credit card.

50% bonus miles

As a reminder, don’t forget to register your Barclaycard US Airways Dividend miles credit card for the 50% bonus. Barclaycard did mention this in their promotional e-mail they sent me even though I’m already registered.

More information on the 50% bonus can be found in my post here. I think it’s worthwhile to earn the maximum 10,000 miles that Barclaycard is giving away.
