I had the amazing opportunity to visit NYC again for my 7th time over Memorial weekend! I was able to get free airplane tickets, because my partner and I had signed up for the Barclaycard Arrival when they were offering 40,000 miles after only spending $1,000 on the card. As soon as our miles posted, we booked our tickets to NYC and wiped away the charge using Barclaycard’s handy tool once you log into your account!
On our way home from NYC, I knew I wanted to stop into the Delta Sky Club at JFK since this is supposed to be one of their signature lounges and because the American Express Platinum card no longer allows you to bring in guests for free. I was curious to see how many people would actually be in the lounge. Also, you MUST be flying Delta in order to get into a Sky Club that day when you carry the American Express Platinum card. I must say, the changes have significantly reduced the number of people showing up in the lounge (at least on the day I visited.) Just look at my pictures below and you’ll see hardly anyone is in the club. I arrived about 10:00am and there must have been 25 or less people in the lounge.
These first four pictures of just of a sitting area, the bar, and some charging stations for your portable devices.
Lastly, here is the food they called “continental breakfast.” There was a pretty weak selection in my opinion.
The lounge was quiet and a great place to relax before taking off! For what food options they had in the morning, it was exceptionally better than the airport food you’d find out in the main terminals. I had oatmeal with some brown cinnamon sugar, 2 mini blueberry muffins, and some water. I only got to spend about an hour and half in the lounge, so not a whole lot of time. I did visit the bathroom once and they were clean and the stalls were great, because they were fully enclosed! Nice to have some privacy 😉
