Expedia has released its annual report for the top 5 WORST passengers to fly with. Flying can be a stressful time for anyone. Sometimes you’re running late, your connection flight is either delayed or canceled, or mother nature gets in the way of your travel plans. Whatever it may be, you don’t want to end up with a passenger next to you who’s going to make your flight an unpleasant one.

Before you fly home from visiting your family this Christmas, make sure you’re not one of these 5 people listed below!

How can you avoid these passengers? I’ve tried coming up with a solution for each one! Let me know in the comments if you thought of something else.

Worst Airplane Passengers

Avoid being one of these 5 travel passengers that are stressful to deal with when flying.

Expedia’s top 5 worst passengers to fly with

1. Rear seat kickerMore than 67% of respondents said this is the worst offender to fly with.

Solution: To avoid the ‘rear seat kicker’ you could book a seat that is in front of the exit row. Typically the exit row providers extra leg room, so you wouldn’t have to worry about the person behind you kicking your seat.

2. Inattentive parents – At 64%, this came in at number 2.

Solution: While I can’t stand a screaming kid on airplane, it’s typically unavoidable. There’s nothing you can do about it, but if your kid is running up and down the aisle like a maniac, then this needs to stop!

3. Aromatic passenger – 56% don’t want to stuck next to someone who smells!

Solution: While I don’t have a solid solution for this, you could bring a surgical mask! While it may look funny, most people will think you’re wearing it to keep the germs out.

4. Audio insensitive – 51% of passengers don’t want to hear your loud music!

Solution: While you could tap the person and politely ask them to turn it down, I would recommend picking up quality noise canceling headphones if you fly more than a few times a year. Noise canceling headphones can immediately solve #2 and #4 on this list!

5. The ‘boozer’ – 50% don’t want to be stuck next to the person who’s pounding down the drinks.

Solution: Put your headphones in and pretend you’re sleeping? This is the only solution I can think of. Since you probably won’t be able to change seats, this is your best bet.

Have you been stuck next to any of these 5 people? What is the worst passenger you’ve ever flown with? Let me know in the comments below! I’ve been fortunate enough where I’ve only been stuck next to a puking kid! Thankfully he got it all in the barf bag.
